A night nanny, or newborn specialist, may be hired for several weeks, or longer to care for your newborn baby. A night nanny ensures the baby has a bedtime routine, and she also provides services such as feeding, changing the baby during the night, organizing and sometimes providing professional advice and support.

Choosing a Maternity Nurse vs. a Night Nanny

 

 A night nanny may be certified in childcare or may have many years of experience working with children. A maternity nurse is register nurse qualified to work with children and can offer families support in pediatric care. These different nanny options can provide different levels of support for families.

What to Expect From Your Night Nanny

Night Nanny hours are from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., which may be flexible based on custom requests directly with Trusted Care Providers.  Your night nanny will not only care for your child, but will also guide your child to sleep through the night.  We are committed to providing you with the same nanny for the entire service period – for a maximum of up to three months.  After this time, your baby’s nanny will have established a good sleep routine for your baby.  Families can have a night nanny for anywhere between three and six nights per week.
A night nanny duties are as follows:
1.    Night feeding; changing diapers
2.    Settling the baby; preparing bottles
3.    Dressing and preparing the baby in the morning
4.    Providing advice for sleep routine training
5.    Offering strategies for coping with postpartum depression
6.    Offering longer hours to allow for sleeping-in
7.    Breast-feeding advice and support
8.    Night nannies are NOT responsible for domestic cleaning or laundry
